Distribution of funds
On principal the financial support is focused on individual aid. But in particular cases also projects, for example holiday camps for concerned children can be supported. The objective of these projects is that the beneficiaries are definitely (in any case) the needy children and young people suffering from cancer.
The financial aid is provided in an efficient and unbureaucratic way. Normally, a decision on an application is made within one week and the granted amount is disbursed directly to the needy family within a very short time.
As diverse as the individual fates of the little patients are, as specific is our financial aid.
It is required that our financial assistance is rendered directly to the needy families in the region of the venue. This is done in close cooperation with the relief organizations on site, like cancer organizations as well as psychosocial departments in children's oncological clinics, which have direct contact to the families of the cancer affected children.
Due to this successful cooperation with the relief organizations on site, an efficient and effective financial assistance is guaranteed. Our goal is to extend the cooperation with further relief organizations in order to reach more families, who urgently need financial aid during these difficult times.
We know, we cannot take away the fear and worries of the parents like, e.g. will their child win the fight against this horrible disease. But we know what a relief it is when they get support if serious financial straits occur. This can happen very quickly. The cancer affected child does not only need an extremely good medical care but also an intensive attendance of the parents and siblings. In most cases the working mother will stop or reduce her job so that she can be with her child as often as possible. The reduction in salary as well as other expenses due to the illness of the child are a great financial burden for many families.
